Welcome back to our latest update on the stunning "River Retreat" project in beautiful Floyd County! Framing and Rough-In Phases
We've just wrapped up the framing and are diving into the rough-in phases. This is an exciting time as the house begins to take shape, revealing the vision of our clients and the craftsmanship of our team. Check out the photo gallery above!
The Great Room: A Central Highlight
This is the heart of the "River Retreat" project. This space features soaring 25-foot ceilings that create an open and airy atmosphere. The central fireplace, a full masonry piece designed and installed by our talented friends at Mannon Masonry, stretches all the way to the peak, making a grand statement in the room. The fireplace includes a chair-height hearth, perfect for cozying up on a cold winter night.
Front Porch: Masonry and Timber Work
Moving to the front porch, you'll find beautiful full masonry tapered (Mannon Masonry) columns supporting a timber frame from Streamline Timberframe. These load-bearing timbers seamlessly transition between a barrel roof and a flat roof, adding architectural interest and structural integrity.
Structural and Aesthetic
A large, curved timber-framed roof covers a spacious deck, accompanied by tapered stone columns. This area also features an outdoor fireplace, creating a perfect spot for our clients to enjoy outdoor moments during every season throughout the years to come.
Under the deck, the curved wall lands atop the structure, necessitating robust steel framing to support the load while integrating seamlessly with the house. This engineering feat spans over a double sliding door, highlighting our commitment to both form and function.
